Every great adventure has at least three things: a place, strong passion and a realistic plan. Mark your calendar now for what will be one of the most exciting spiritual adventures of 2008.
Sunday, February 24 we’ll begin an adventure at KCBT in discovering the roots and heritage of our Bible. Where did our Bible come from? How can we be confident we have the very words of God? Was there a price paid? By whom? Many of you have never had the opportunity to study out these answers; others need a good review to stoke your passion for God’s word. This is your chance as we explore this exciting area.
The Plan: We’ll meet together Sunday morning, then Sunday through Wednesday evenings. You’ll learn a great deal about the history of the Bible. Our services will also include dramatic presentations which will take a look at the lives of five men who gave their lives for the sake of God and His Word.
Our passion “gets traction” as everyone will have an opportunity to volunteer in the assembly of 35,000 Portuguese New Testaments. A 24-hour publishing operation at KCBT will provide a time to fit your schedule. You can come alone or bring your family for a hands-on experience of putting a Bibles together for someone that has never held a copy of God’s precious word…so they can take a great adventure, too! You can signup online for the time slot of your choice, or just come to the gym as your schedule allows. Make this a memory shared with your family as you dedicate your lives to living the Great Adventure in serving Him.
These are the unique opportunities to impact not only your life, but the lives of your children forever. Kindergarten through Second Graders will have their own special services Sunday through Wednesday; third through sixth graders will attend service in the main auditorium each evening.
A special Bible offering will be taken on Sunday February 24, Wednesday evening February 27 and Sunday morning March 2. Please indicate on your regular giving envelope your special Bible offering or use an envelope provided in the pew. Student and Adult Ministry Fellowships will not meet on Sunday, February 24.
