What does it mean to experience God?

Saturday, December 1st, 2007

Is it tangible or ethereal? Is it measurable? Is it scriptural to really ‘experience’ God or is that just silly emotions?

When I was young it was all about going to church. When I was older it was all about being involved in ministry. In between? It was a journey of searching, seeking and soul questioning. What was the final conclusion? That if we are not connected to our Heavenly Father in a real, personal and tangible way we are not really connected as God intended. Thus our direction is blurred and unprofitable and our perfecting or maturing is stifled and hindered.

Let’s make sure our connection is powerful. Signup and join us beginning Sunday, January 13 at 9am in Room 107 to connect with God in a supernatural, powerful and life changing way!

Adopted for the dance

Saturday, December 1st, 2007

Last year when planning the Father/Daughter event, I was wrapped up in making sure everything was very special and that the night would come off without a hitch. I never expected that I personally would enjoy it.

Having been in church most of my life and having attended a variety of church-hosted events, I stood back in amazement at the overwhelming joy and excitement in the room. I saw delight as fathers and daughters, sat and talked or were on the dance floor. I stood there thinking I wish I had shared one memorable event with my dad such as this, before he had gone home to be with the Lord. One of the guys came up to me and asked me if he could adopt me for a dance. At that moment, the Lord impressed on my heart that is why we refer to the church as our church family. The needs that we have missed being fulfilled in our lives, God desires to fulfill through our brothers and sisters in the Lord as we become connected to the family, then directed in our personal walk and finally perfected - only for the cycle to be fulfilled once again.

Someone special needs you the evening of February 3. Perhaps, your daughter, granddaughter, niece or a friend’s child. Someone is hoping to be adopted and to share in a special evening along with other gals. Whether she is five or fifty–five, be God’s instrument in making her feel ‘special’ and thereby reinforcing that she is even more ‘special’ to our Father!

Be sure to signup for this special Sunday evening February 3, 6pm, at the Sheridan/Clarion Hotel. Click here for full details and a few suggestions to make the evening one your daughter will remember!

Hey, thanks again, to my brother in Christ who extended himself on behalf of our Lord to be my spiritual ‘dad’ for an evening.
