As a child I had a horrible reoccurring nightmare. In the dream I was drowning in an ocean and frantically gasping for air. My arms were flailing about trying to grab someone or something to rescue me. I would always awaken, heart beating rapidly, dry of mouth; however, I always quickly recovered.

That nightmare from childhood became reality and complete recovery was sought but never quite secured. The only difference, was rather than an ocean of water, it was an ocean of deep and overwhelming debt that caused me to feel like I could never breathe deeply and I grasped at many foolish things to help rescue me.

Why does the Christian life seem to be difficult for me to figure out, and yet I have prayed and studied my Bible? Have you ever needed help, but wasn’t sure how to even ask for it?

Bible Publishing has been a part of KCBT’s history since 1987. This ministry is currently headed by Terry Ogle and a great team of experienced workers.

We will have thousands of signatures, individual sections of the Bible, which will be assembled for a total of 35,000 Portuguese New Testaments. At each stage of the assembly process we need numerous volunteers to help us achieve our goal by Wednesday evening of the Bible conference. We will start immediately after the first service in the gym on Sunday, February 24, and will work non-stop 24 hours a day. When you join the other volunteers your job will be explained thoroughly and someone will walk you through it until you are comfortable. You can signup online for the time slot of your choice, or simply come to the gym as your schedule allows.

This project will prove to be a challenge; however, with everyone giving one hour or more, it is achievable! You will have a chance to meet new people and start building bonds of fellowship that will be a blessing far into the future. The boxed New Testaments will be placed on the platform in the auditorium on Wednesday night February 27 for a special dedication. After the service they will be loaded onto a truck on their way in the Great Adventure of reaching the hands of people, many of whom for the first time will have the Gospel message.

Rev. Paul Prichard will be with us during this week. Through his ministry, Preach Evangelistic Ministries, the New Testaments will be distributed throughout Portuguese-speaking Africa.

Bring a friend, family member, or join in with a ministry team to be a part of this ministry.

Don’t just come to the Great Adventure—be a part of it!

Every great adventure has at least three things: a place, strong passion and a realistic plan. Mark your calendar now for what will be one of the most exciting spiritual adventures of 2008.

Sunday, February 24 we’ll begin an adventure at KCBT in discovering the roots and heritage of our Bible. Where did our Bible come from? How can we be confident we have the very words of God? Was there a price paid? By whom? Many of you have never had the opportunity to study out these answers; others need a good review to stoke your passion for God’s word. This is your chance as we explore this exciting area.

The Plan: We’ll meet together Sunday morning, then Sunday through Wednesday evenings. You’ll learn a great deal about the history of the Bible. Our services will also include dramatic presentations which will take a look at the lives of five men who gave their lives for the sake of God and His Word.

Our passion “gets traction” as everyone will have an opportunity to volunteer in the assembly of 35,000 Portuguese New Testaments. A 24-hour publishing operation at KCBT will provide a time to fit your schedule. You can come alone or bring your family for a hands-on experience of putting a Bibles together for someone that has never held a copy of God’s precious word…so they can take a great adventure, too! You can signup online for the time slot of your choice, or just come to the gym as your schedule allows. Make this a memory shared with your family as you dedicate your lives to living the Great Adventure in serving Him.

These are the unique opportunities to impact not only your life, but the lives of your children forever. Kindergarten through Second Graders will have their own special services Sunday through Wednesday; third through sixth graders will attend service in the main auditorium each evening.

A special Bible offering will be taken on Sunday February 24, Wednesday evening February 27 and Sunday morning March 2. Please indicate on your regular giving envelope your special Bible offering or use an envelope provided in the pew. Student and Adult Ministry Fellowships will not meet on Sunday, February 24.

About three years into my marriage to my wife, I realized she was going to leave me due to financial stress. I saw it as a David and Goliath situation…As a result of taking [Financial Peace University] and applying its instructions, I got a peaceable understanding of finances, better communication with my wife, and so far we have paid off $5000 worth of debt…changing my family tree forever!”

Is what you are doing now actually working for you…do you have more financial peace than six months to a year ago? Why not try what has given literally thousands peace of mind. Signup now for this life changing course; classes begin January 13.
